It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at La Suprema! Although this year has been a difficult one, to say the least, we are trying to make the absolute most of it. December is jam-packed with holidays and festive fun. While brainstorming ways to celebrate the season while staying safe, Community Manager Alex came up with the idea of hosting a cookie exchange!
On Monday, December 21, our members came together for the first annual La Suprema Holiday Cookie Exchange! That’s a mouthful now isn’t it (... of cookies, that is). Members baked and individually packaged cookies in festive packaging.
We had cookies galore, including gingerbread bread, colorful sugar cookies, almond joy cookies, and even homemade Chex mix. Right after lunchtime, all the members who brought cookies sat outside to try the cookies. It was a lovely, sunny day, and our spacious outdoor courtyard was a great setting for our cookie exchange. Members enjoyed fresh coffee and hot cocoa while sharing holiday stories.
One of my favorite parts of the season is learning about different traditions, which are often special family recipes. Cooking and baking is something that brings people together, especially during the holidays.
I personally love spending time in the kitchen with my Grandma, and it's one of my favorite about the holiday season. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved making cookies with my Grandma — they always just seemed to taste better!
This cookie exchange allowed our members to share their own family recipes and traditions. Not only did we share stories, we shared cookies and my, were they delicious! After all, during the holidays, there's no such thing as too much sugar.
The first annual cookie exchange was a success and we look forward to holding more events for our members!
