Esther Lopez, Community Intern
How did you get started with what you’re doing now?
I was introduced to this internship at La Suprema through the wonderful Kat Cabrera! We worked together for a year with the Wildcat Events Board at the University of Arizona. Throughout our year of planning and promoting events I was able to learn what Kat did for her internship and I was amazed. It sounded like the opportunity I had been waiting for! I sent Alex my resume and was able to interview in the office and here I am. I look forward to my time here at La Suprema and meeting all the amazing people who share this space.
What is a typical day like in your life?
I'm working my way to being a business owner one day but a typical day this summer includes waking up, getting ready for work, driving down to La Suprema and grabbing coffee from Barista Del Barrio (if I wake up early enough). After I've completed my morning at La Suprema, I go on to my second job at Arizona 4-H where I am their Events Logistic Assistant. After a day of work I enjoy going to the Campus Rec and working out as some much needed self-care.
Once I arrive at home I eat dinner, catch up on my to-do list, and watch some TV. After some relaxation it's time to get some sleep to wake up and do it all over again! In my free time I love exploring Tucson and experiencing new businesses.
What is your best productivity hack?
When I want to be productive I always put my ear buds in and listen to music or a podcast. This helps me stay focused on the work I need to accomplish.
Favorite part of La Suprema?
Aside from the beautiful décor I really enjoy getting to know the people who work here!
Best Hidden Gem in Tucson?
All the amazing coffee places: Coffee Times, Barista Del Barrio, Black Crown Coffee, Press Coffee Drive Thru, etc. (If you have any new coffee places please share)
Coffee or Tea?
Shouldn't be a surprise... Coffee.
