After almost a year of being open, we finally hosted our very first in-person event! When La Suprema was being built and remodeled, the intention was always to create a space for people to come together and gather. The pandemic made things difficult for all of us and prohibited us from hosting events in the capacity we initially hoped.
We have been happy to host virtual events such as cooking classes and La Suprema Lunches, but we were lucky enough to host our first in-person event yesterday! We hosted a happy hour on our patio on a beautiful Thursday evening. The weather could not have been more perfect!
We provided a selection of drinks for guests, including local beer, wine, hard seltzers, and sparkling water for everyone to enjoy. We had loads of snacks, including Hawaiian potato chips — the best ever in my opinion!
We created a list of fun icebreakers to place on the tables so everyone had something to chat about (since socializing is hard after a year of being on zoom). The event was a nice opportunity for new members to meet one another. We were also joined by family and friends of members which made for great company.
The event was a success! It was wonderful to make use of our patio and see familiar faces, while also meeting new people. Although events have been limited due to the pandemic, we look forward to hosting more events and creating safe spaces for people to mix & mingle!
